🆕Genoa go head-to-head against Juventus on Saturday. Read our Predictions and Betting Tips with Match Preview, Head-to-head stats (h2h) and Team Form Analysis.
Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Stadio Luigi Ferraris will host Saturday’s football game between Genoa and Juventus. The Rossoblu aim to put an end to their three-match winless run, but they must be low on confidence following a 2-0 loss to newcomers Venezia. As Genoa have been struggling in front of goal of late, home win should not be considered. Ruslan Malinovskyi has joined David Ankeye and Brooke Norton-Cuffy in the starting XI, with Andrea Pinamonti likely to step up.
The Bianconeri, on the other hand, head into the match following a goalless draw with Napoli. As Juve have been impressive at the back under new boss Thiago Motta, we are tempted to place our bets on under 2.5 goals. Anyhow, Juve are closer to picking up all three points from the match than Genoa, who suffered a dip in form. Chico Conceicao and Arkadiusz Milik should be the only absentees in the visiting team.
How the bookies view it: Juventus highly fancied
Juventus have been installed as overwhelming favourites among the bookies and are priced at 8/11 by JILIMACAO to claim the win. A victory for Genoa is valued at 9/2 by 777PUB while a draw is set at odds of 5/2.
Head to head: Juventus on top
Juventus have a 26-5 advantage with 11 draws from 42 previous matches against Genoa. However both teams drew their two matches last season, playing out a 1-1 scoreline at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris before battling to a 0-0 draw in Turin.
Genoa vs Juventus Prediction
Genoa and Juventus will continue their congested schedule on Saturday afternoon. They take on each other in Matchday No 6 at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.
The match comes just three days after Genoa’s city derby with eternal rivals Sampdoria in the second round of Coppa Italia.
The team led by Alberto Gilardino have generally run into a crisis of late. They are struggling badly to create chances in the final third these days.
Genoa failed to register a single shot on target in a 0-2 defeat to recently-promoted Venezia last Saturday.
They are now up against Juventus who are yet to concede in this term of Serie A. The Bianconeri played three goalless draws in the opening three rounds of the season.
The latest has come seven days ago in the clash with Napoli. We saw just a single shot on goal from each team on the occasion.
Genoa are struggling badly for goals these days. None of their last four league fixtures provided three or more goals.
Gilardino’s team notched no more than a single goal in the last three Serie A outings despite facing Verona, Roma, and Venezia in the process.
Juventus have kept five straight clean sheets in the Serie A. They also got off to a strong start to the UEFA Champions League league phase with a 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven on the opening day.
The away win is the way to go at the 1.75 odds while we also like the Under 2.5 goals FT pick at the 1.61 odds.
Players to watch: Bremer always rock solid
The one positive for Juventus in recent weeks has been their defensive showings, keeping clean sheets in all five of their Serie A matches so far. Bremer has been a rock at the heart of the defence for the Turin club and can lead them to another clean sheet at evens with WJPESO.
At the other end of the pitch, Juventus will look to Dusan Vlahovic to deliver the goods. While the Serbian striker has not fired at his best this season, he still has two Serie A goals and could be worth keeping an eye on at 8/5 with JILIPARK.
Probable line-ups
Andrea Pinamonti was on target in the Coppa Italia in midweek and could earn a start after coming off the bench at Venezia. Mattia Bani is also expected to continue at the heart of the defence while Junior Messias and Caleb Ekuban are both ruled out with injury.
Right-back Nicolo Savona is doubtful for Juventus with an injury and could be replaced by Danilo, who was an unused substitute last time out against Napoli. Douglas Luiz could also be handed a start on Saturday while Dusan Vlahovic should continue to lead the line.
Genoa: Gollini, De Winter, Bani, Vazquez, Sabelli, Frendrup, Badelj, Malinovskiy, Martin, Vitinha, Pinamonti
Juventus: Di Gregorio, Danilo, Bremer, Kalulu, Cambiaso, McKennie, Luiz, Yildiz, Koopmeiners, Gonzalez, Vlahovic
